I teach ethics and social and political philosophy. Most recently, I have been teaching about moral responsibility, blame, and forgiveness. Some of my courses have been aimed at philosophy students; others are designed for students entering professions like nursing, engineering, and business management. These courses differ from one another in various ways, but all of them have the same main goals:
- to promote curiosity about philosophical questions,
- to develop skills and habits of analysis,
- to encourage intellectual humility, and
- to create an inclusive learning environment.
